S. M. Shams Tabrez, MD
Growing up, I always had an ambition to serve the community, become highly educated, and obtain skills using the modern technology in the field of Medicine. That is the reason I crossed three continents and came to the USA from Pakistan.

I was fortunate to do my Residency in Internal Medicine at America's oldest and most prestigious city Hospital - "Bellevue Hospital", New York University Medical Center - the place of Austin-Flint, Salk, and Sabin etc. Being on call at Bellevue means that you are on-call for the world as patients of any type, from any country can come to you.

In pursuance of my interest in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, I was honored to receive my Fellowship at Yale University where I was privileged to have Dr. Howard Spiro (Father of America GI), Dr. James Boyer (world authority in Cholestasis), Dr. Alberto Grozmann (authority pancreatologist) and others as my teachers.

I have been active in writing publications, participating in research projects and speaking at conferences. To date, I have 8 publications with 1 in press, 9 oral presentations and 2 research projects completed at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut. I have attached a condensed list of the above for reference.

Now here I am, excited about this great town and its history including Chisum, Goddard, Billy the Kid, and certainly, UFO's.

We are a family of four. My wife, Salma, is in the second year of training in the Family Practice Residency Program at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. We have two daughters, Elsa and Mariam, ages 7 and 5 respectively, getting ready to enjoy schools in Roswell.

I am honored by the opportunity provided by Dr. Frederick French and Dr. Adil Choudary to join the wonderful medical community of Roswell. I'll be available with my full devotion, dedication, and expertise to make Roswell a Symbol of Health.
